 FANTASTIC!
I am completely floored and absolutely THRILLED with this new release from Integrity toys!
My neighbors knocked to see what all the screaming was about!

The Mommie Dearest Gift Set is hopefully the first of many releases for this Paramount FIlms property.

She is fantastic and wonderful in every way.
This item also is the first release with the new quick release head system that allowss collectors to change heads among different body types with ease and without boiling to soften heads.

My only gripe is that the head mold should have had the frowning or angry Anges Von Weiss Face  mold.
I'm sure there is a senesable reason as to why it does not and I will ask an Integrity staff member when I get a chance. (see pics below)

I am also aware this does not look like the divine Joan Crawford or Faye Dunaway.
In the past Integrity has claimed their film properties represent the characters and not the actress.
In this case, (as with the other Integrity celebrity properties: Lana Turner and Josphine Baker) the face sculpt still  doesn’t resemble the star.

However, the design and presentation of this representaion of J.C. is eons ahead of the uninteresting offerings by Robert Tonner.
It is sheer brilliance to include the wire hanger and the changeable head!
It is simply a must have for any doll collector and Joan Crawford fan!

  1. Bought this doll on clearance... Only 800 made and released in July 2013 and already on clearance. The idea is tacky, tactless, tasteless and totally terrific. I don't associate the movie "Mommie Dearest" with Christina Crawford's memoire or with the seriousness of child cruelty, but that campy world that contains "Showgirls", "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls", "Silent Night, Deadly Night", "Baby", "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane", "The Lonely Lady", "Who Slew Auntie Roo?", and most John Waters movie.

With that said, this doll just doesn't deliver. Yes, the two costumes (and the two heads) represent the two most memorable scenes in the movie, but on a static doll, these garments are... well... dull. (This must be especially disappointing for collectors who paid full price of $150.00!) The suit and hat doesn't even seem to be the correct colors and the broach is an appliqué! And the prop hanger is HUGE! Completely off scale. (The doll is 1:6, the hanger is 1:4)

Fine, the simplistic nightgown and night cream face might be essential to the Mommie Dearest mystique, but the other costumes (and heads) that needed to be included was that over the top 1940s party dress Faye Dunaway wore to Christina's birthday and the chic mid-1960s ensemble she wore when visiting Tina's apartment. A nice prop to have would've been Al's necklace in a box.

This gift set needs to be locked in the pool house with a rare steak and a box of Bon Ami.
